THE CLASSIC VENICE TOUR - 3 NIGHTS/4 DAYS

Overview

Planning a weekend getaway in the floating city? Let us take you around this unique place that inspired artists from all over the world since centuries.

Each one of our tours is different since our photographers will take you to the best photo locations basing on the weather forecasts, the sun or moon position in the sky and many other variables, so we can’t really make an official day-by-day schedule: we can only give you some general informations about the itinerary.

Burano and Venice photography tours

Workshop Itinerary

Day 1 (Friday or Monday):

You arrive at the airport, we will be there to wait for you. As soon as you will make the reservation, we will ask you the time of your arrival flight (or we will help you choosing the right flights combinations for you, if you are having troubles) so that we can wait for you and the other participants at the airport. When all the participants are arrived, we move to the hotel (30min from the Venice airport) so that you can set up your room and leave there all the luggages. If there’s time, we will make our first photography session before dinner, just in time for sunset; if there’s not, we will have dinner at the hotel and then if the weather and the conditions permit (and most of all, if you are not tired!), we’ll make a first night photography session.

Day 2/3 (Saturday/Sunday or Tuesday/Wednesday):

The routine could vary from tour to tour, but it will be pretty much this one:

– we are going to wake up early the morning to catch the twilight and then the sunrise;

– after the morning photography session, we return to the hotel to have breakfast and if conditions permits we go out again to catch some nice morning fog (hopefully) with the sunlight;

– around midday we are going to have lunch in some beautiful restaurants to taste some of the local dishes;

– in the afternoon, by looking at the weather we’ll decide together on which of the two full days you have at your disposal it’s best to go to Burano (a small village on another island 45 minutes from the Venice centre, by ferry) and when to explore more the Venice canals; we’ll do both for sure, we’ll just move accordingly to the weather forecasts, as always.

– In the late afternoon, no matter what we make during the day, we’ll go go for the sunset photography session;

– After the evening photography session, we return to the hotel to have dinner with some delicious local food;

– After dinner, some of you will be tired and all they want is to pour themselves a glass of wine and stay in their room, while others will still be full of energy and want to make some night photography; of course we will satisfy everyone! If the weather is good we will go out to photograph the Venice atmosphere at night, through the small canals and the famous San Marco Square.

Day 4 (Monday or Thursday):

Well, that is going to be a sad day; unfortunately our tour has come to an end, and we must say goodbye! After breakfast, if all the participants have the flight in the late afternoon we are going to make the last photography session, if there’s not time we will help you make the check out from the hotel and we will take you to the airport from which you will take your return flight.

Smart or Comfort Package?

As you can see below here, we are currently offering this tour in two different versions: what we call the “Smart” and “Comfort” packages.

The “Smart Package” is our price-friendly formula, for photographers that aren’t much interested in “haute cuisine”, wine tasting and big lunches/dinners, but rather prefer to save some (well, actually a lot of) bucks and focus just on photography learning and exploration.

The “Comfort Package” instead has been created for those photographers that are looking for a completely hassle-free trip, where we’ll take care of you from the moment you land till the moment you’ll depart. In this package, we’ll also guarantee at least a 4*-rated (or higher) hotel.

With the “Comfort Package” you are also free to contact us and ask for a private tour, since there won’t be any price addition. You’ll have your own professional photographer following you at all times and focusing just on improving your skill during the workshop!

Check out the details of what’s included and what’s not in both the packages down here, and if you have any questions, contact us!

What to Bring? (Photographic Gear)

- Digital Camera (preferably a DSLR camera, both an APS-C and FF will be more than fine)

- An ultrawide lens (such as the Nikon 14-24mm, Canon 16-35mm, Tamron 15-30mm, Tokina 16-28mm etc); we recommend a lens with a wide maximum aperture (like f/2.8) for night photography.

- A standard zoom lens (like the various Nikon/Canon/Sigma 24-70mm or 24-105mm)

- A telephoto zoom lens (like the various Nikon/Canon/Tamron/Sigma 70-200mm)

- A super telephoto zoom lens (like the Sigma/Tamron 150-600mm); this lens is not necessary but we recommend it anyway since it allows to capture the far away details of the landscapes

- A sturdy tripod that permits to do some long exposure photos, specially during the twilight hour

- A set of ND filters; these are the only filters we feel to recommend, since they become useful when you need to stretch the exposure time a little bit during some difficult light conditions

- A camera remote to avoid blurry shots
